Delete your Pairscape account
This page explains how to delete your account and your data, whether you use the website or the Android app.
Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest way. Deleting from Settings takes effect straight away.
- Sign in to Pairscape.
- Open Settings (the gear icon in the top bar).
- Scroll to the red Delete Account section at the bottom of the page.
- Select the Delete Account button.
- A confirmation asks if you are absolutely sure. Select Delete My Account to confirm, or Cancel to keep your account.
When you confirm, your account is removed immediately. You are signed out on every device, any call in progress is ended and billed for the minutes so far, any chat is disconnected, you are taken out of the matching queue, and you are returned to the Pairscape home page. The account cannot be recovered afterwards.
Delete by email
If you cannot sign in, you can ask us to delete the account for you. Send an email from the address registered on the account to support@pairscape.com with the subject Delete my account.
We confirm it is you by the address the email comes from, so please write from the email address you signed up with. We process the request within 30 days.
What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your profile: username, email address, gender, password and any linked Google sign-in.
- Your profile picture.
- Your intro videos.
- Your verification photo, if you submitted one.
- Your messages: direct messages and the chat from your calls.
- Your friendships, friend requests and conversations.
- Your call history and the gifts you sent or received.
- Your point balance and any pending payout requests.
- Your sign-in sessions and your notification subscriptions.
Uploaded files (picture, intro videos and verification photo) are removed from our storage as part of the same deletion.
What is kept and why
A small amount of data has to outlive the account. We keep it only for the reasons below, and we keep it for as long as the law or fraud prevention requires, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
- Payment and payout records. A record of each point purchase and payout (date, amount, payment reference and the email address on the account) is kept for accounting, and so we can answer a payment dispute or chargeback that arrives after the account is gone.
- Ban records. If an account was banned, the banned email address and IP address stay on a block list so the ban cannot be avoided by deleting the account and signing up again.
- Reports and feedback. Reports made by or about an account, and feedback messages, are kept for safety and moderation. They are no longer linked to a live account, but may still contain the email address and the text that was submitted.
- Free-preview carry-over. If you delete an account while a free preview or its cooldown is still running, we keep a normalised form of your email address and a browser identifier together with the preview state for up to 48 hours, so that deleting and signing up again does not reset the free preview. It is then deleted automatically.
Before you delete
- Unused points are forfeited. Your point balance is deleted with the account and cannot be refunded or transferred.
- Unpaid earnings are forfeited. If you earn points, cash them out and wait for the payout to be paid before you delete. A payout request that is still pending is cancelled with the account and is not paid. While an approved payout is waiting to be sent, the account cannot be deleted until it has been paid.
- Deleting does not reset free points. Free points you already used are not given back if you sign up again.
- It cannot be undone. Friends, messages, intro videos and your profile are gone for good.
Website and Android app
The same process and the same rules apply on the website and in the Android app, because both use the same Pairscape account. Deleting your account in one deletes it everywhere.
