1. Introduction

Pairscape ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using Pairscape, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Account information: username, email address, and gender when you sign up.
Profile picture: if you upload one.
Verification image: a photo you submit if you apply for identity verification (female users only).
Messages: text messages you send to other users through the chat feature.
Payment information: when purchasing points, payment is processed by NOWPayments via cryptocurrency. We do not store your full payment details — only transaction identifiers and point balances.
Payout information: your crypto wallet address if you request a payout.

Information collected automatically

Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration.
Device and browser information: browser type, operating system, and IP address for security and analytics purposes.

Google Sign-In

If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email address, display name, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive your Google password.

3. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account.
To match you with other users for conversations.
To process points purchases and payouts.
To review identity verification submissions (admin only).
To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse.
To send service-related notifications (e.g. payout status).
To improve the Service through anonymised analytics.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. How We Store Your Data

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore database and Firebase Authentication), which is hosted on Google's infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Verification images are stored in Firebase Storage and are only accessible to authorised admins.

5. Data Sharing

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

With matched users: your username and profile picture are visible to users you are connected or matched with.
With NOWPayments: payment data is shared with NOWPayments solely to process cryptocurrency transactions.
With service providers: we use Google Firebase for infrastructure and Cloudflare for video/audio sessions. These providers have their own privacy policies.
For legal reasons: if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users.

6. Cookies and Tracking

Pairscape uses cookies that fall into the following categories:

Necessary cookies: required for authentication and core functionality. These are always active.
Analytics cookies: Microsoft Clarity helps us understand how the site is used through anonymised session data. Only activated with your consent.
Marketing cookies: Google Ads and Google Tag Manager are used for ad conversion tracking. Only activated with your consent.

When you first visit Pairscape, a cookie consent banner lets you accept, reject, or customise which optional cookie categories are enabled. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for fraud prevention purposes. Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

9. Children's Privacy

Pairscape is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately and we will delete the account.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. If changes are significant, we will notify registered users by email or via an in-app notice.
